The R7 (OW-02) was a road-legal homologation special that let Yamaha go racing in World Superbike. It is a fuel-injected 749 cc four with Ohlins suspension, built in a run of only about 500 units, and a factory race kit with carbon airbox and exhaust was offered to unlock more power. Noriyuki Haga rode it to second place in the 2000 WSBK championship.
